Mixed-media collages

“Fragments” is a series of collages that began with a single artificially created image and later expanded into several related portraits.

I printed the image in different formats, cut it apart, reassembled it, translated it into cyanotypes, and hand-colored it with watercolor. Plants, animals, ornaments, and gold appear throughout the works not as symbols with fixed meanings, but as additional layers that intervene in the image, alter it, and invite it to be read again.

“Fragments” does not offer a final version of identity. Instead, the series exists in a state of continual reconstruction, where no image is ever complete, and each new interpretation simultaneously reinforces the image and moves it further away from its source.
